CCFC is collaborating with EnvisionRumford, a nonprofit organization serving downtown Rumford businesses and organizations, to strengthen the downtown as a place to do business and be in business. New signage directing traffic to the “Island” is in place. A map of the “Island” that identifies businesses and organizations and the traffic flow has been developed and copies placed in key visitor destinations. The River Valley Pumpkin Fest draws visitors and residents alike to downtown Rumford.
Recognizing downtown Rumford’s unique location on an Island and the significance of the architecture of many buildings in the downtown, EnvisionRumford is applying to the National Register of Historic Places for designation of a portion of the downtown as a historic district.
EnvisionRumford is a member of the Maine Downtown Network.
