Here’s what Green Machine customers are saying about it, “First ride out on my newly tuned Giant OCR1, and I can’t believe the difference. Shifts so much better, and I just did my personal best 10 miles! Can’t thank you enough for the tune up and the quick service.”
Want to stay in shape or get back into shape? Check out the newest business to locate on Main Street in Norway is the Green Machine Bike Shop, a full service bike shop that sells mid-to high-end bikes and provides quality repairs and tune-ups. It is a dealer of both Felt (Kristen Armstrong recently won an Olympic title riding a Felt DA…see the Green Machine Facebook page) and KHS Road and Mountain Bikes. It also offers a full line of bicycle parts, accessories and clothing plus expert advice.
The name Green Machine comes from owners John and Angela Harvey’s interest in promoting healthy activity.
In addition to managing the store, John and Angela organize recreational group bike rides during the week for local bikers. It’s a great way to explore the area and enjoy the scenery!
While John loves to road bike, he has spent the last decade mountain biking. He says one thing he really would like to do is to create more mountain biking opportunities in Norway. Last year, he and Angela started the Bethel chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA). John believes mountain biking can be a significant economic generator for the area and hopes to make Norway a mountain biking destination.
John and Angela have over 20 years of experience in the bike business. John grew up tinkering with bikes. He bought his first bike when he was 14 and competed in the Sebago Lake Challenge, a 40 mile road race.
A couple of years later he managed a bike shop and eventually ended up working for LL Bean repairing bicycles. He met Angela at Beans when she was selling bicycles on the showroom floor.
