“Wow…what a hidden gem…”

This restaurant far exceeded our expectations.  The food and service were great! This restaurant is owned by a couple that transplanted here from California.  They really have done all of the right things to make it stand out.  We ordered the mussels in cocoanut milk with Thai seasoning, a wedge salad, and Moroccan lamb brik for appetizers. They all tasted delicious, especially the lamb. For dinners we ordered the strip steak, scallops, and the duck. Again, we were all pleasantly surprised at the flavors and presentation. When we are in the area again, we will definitely dine here.

You might guess from this review that the menu includes cuisine from all over the world plus local ingredients and home grown herbs. The menu changes seasonally and Chef Jeremy Donovan will accommodate special dietary needs, such as vegan, gluten-free or lactose intolerance.

76 Pleasant Street is located in a refurbished historic mansion near downtownNorway. With a sweeping lawn and grand circular drive, it makes a large impression. It is the perfect venue for an evening out, private party or intimate wedding reception.  The two adjoining dining rooms each have a fireplace and will seat up to 25 guests. 76 Pleasant Street will also cater off premise events.

Bret and Amy Baker relocated to Maine from Lake Tahoe after a friend convinced them to check out Maine as a place to open a restaurant. They found 76 Pleasant Street and have felt at home in Norway ever since.

As Joe Ricchio said in The Maine Mag, “I really can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed 76 Pleasant Street, and how much you are truly missing out if you don’t make it there very soon.
